Piccolo is located in the Blue Mountains. This area has been of great importance to Australia since colonisation. This is not just as a tourist destination, but to help build Sydney into the great city that is is today. Current we have large mining projects taking place further to the west of the Blue Mountains in two areas call Lithgow and Oberon. But in the early 1900’s mining for sandstone for the buildings was throughout the blue mountains. This is we think is when Piccolo was build, approximately 1910. most of the you can see from the exterior the size of the original house and then where it has been extend by the flatter roof. It still has some of it’s original weatherboard panes, however the majority have now been replaced. We hope you enjoy your blue mountains accommodation and think about staying in our little piece of history....

A mix of old and new. Parts of Piccolo’s kitchen are original feature, but a lot of it has been modernised to make it a comfortable accommodation in the blue mountains. It has a new gas cook top with the convenience of an electric oven and grill. It is fully equipped with everything for cooker and even baking and the are several cook books and a file full of recipes out of magazines, you will never be short of cooking ideas. Before we bought Piccolo in 2011 a book shelf had replaced the area where the old wood burning stove would have been. We hope one day to have a look behind the book shelf and try and replace with a re-conditioned stove. And finally the farmhouse clay fire ceramic sink, that makes this blue mountains cottage feel truly homely. We hope you want to come and enjoy staying in our little piece of historical blue mountains accommodation....
